Job Safety

Worker safety is very important to Janotta & Herner Inc.  Fewer lost time accidents means more time is spent working efficiently.  We pride ourselves on taking the extra step to work safely.  Suggestions for safer procedures from the employees are encouraged.  Training with & use of safety equipment is mandatory for all crew members.  OSHA representatives and other safety experts are invited to crew meetings to inform & demonstrate new safety procedures.  One achievement is the development of a roof  trolley designed by JHI employees.  This device increases safety and efficiency and has been patented.

Voluntary Protection Programs
Janotta & Herner Inc. has embarked on a journey that will further distinguish them as the best of the best.  An announcement was made that they have joined forces with the Ohio Valley Chapter of Associated Builders and Contractors to traverse the OSHA Challenge Program in pursuit of acceptance to a group of an elite few into the Voluntary Protection Program.

The dangers inherent to the construction industry are very well known. Heavy equipment, power tools, working at varying heights in all types of conditions all contribute to a highly threatening work environment. Safety is as important to us as our jobs themselves, and as potential clients of Janotta & Herner Inc., it should be just as important to you. Lower insurance rates for safe companies mean lower construction costs as well as lower liability and fewer work stoppages. All these factors allow us to price our projects more competitively. Your project is completed quicker and at a lower cost.

Just how important is our safety program? During the period from 2005 to 2007, Janotta & Herner worked over 1,200,000 hours without a lost time accident. That’s one million, two hundred thousand hours. These hours were worked on over 1,000 jobs in every weather condition imaginable. This is unheard of in the construction industry, but it speaks volumes about our safety commitment.

We take safety very seriously. Our measure of safety is seeing that each and every worker and subcontractor returns safely to their families after each shift. Wouldn’t you want the same for yourselves?
